Maya,
Our schedule doesn't overlap much these days. You go to daycare with Mommy first thing in the morning and by the time I get home from work we only have a few moments together before you go to bed.
You're such a good sleeper. In bed by 9 or 10 and Mommy has to wake you up at 6 AM sometimes to get ready for school. Thanks for that. Mommy and Daddy like to sleep too.
This is our new routine. I think we're learning how to do this whole thing as a family. We might just make it yet.
At 12 weeks old, you have lots of milestones and a ton more to go through soon. While the milestones are great, I love catching the small moments with you too.
Yesterday I was very late in getting home from work. Without much food to prepare in the house I needed to head out. I was craving pupusas. (a new discovery Uncle Shawn and I found last week in Capital Hill before the Red Fang show) Luckily there is a Salvadorean Bakery down the road from us. I quickly loaded you up in your little seat and we were off. I love our little Maya and Daddy adventures. No major happenenigs. Just a quick drive by the sound to catch the sunset and off to the bakery. At the bakery you were wide eyed just looking at all the colors from the piñatas hanging from the ceiling and other festive colors that filled the bakery. Happy times.
Tonight we watched a bit of Radiohead live from Banaroo streaming on YouTube. Listening to music and watching videos together has been some something your Mother and I have been doing since we first started dating. I'm glad you seem to enjoy taking part in our pastime. Here we are just about to send your cousin Maria a belated birthday greeting before watching some Explosions in the Sky live videos.
Its the small things. The little moments. As we grow into more, we are already leaving some behind. Before you were such a good little independent sleeper, we used to listen to Sigur Ros's Hvarf - Hiem album together before bedtime. We did this every single night for at least a few weeks straight. It was just about a sure fire way to calm you and eventually you would close those tired little eyes and drift off to sleep. By the end of those weeks you would barely make it through the second song (Hijomalind) before you were out. I miss those moments already. Its ok though; every time I hear this song I now think of you and your ridiculously cute smile as you fall asleep in my arms.
Much love little one,
Daddy
